PARAKOU, BENIN — Archbishop Charles Agyinasare has challenged Christians to move beyond religious routine and become available vessels through whom God can demonstrate His power to their generation.
Preaching on “What Must We Do to Work the Works of God?” on the first day of the Ignite Conference in Parakou, Benin, on September 16, 2026, Archbishop Agyinasare said God desires to work through ordinary believers to accomplish extraordinary things.
Drawing from John 6:28–29, he explained that the foundation for doing God’s works is faith in Christ.
“The works of God begins with faith,” he declared, adding, “Before there can be effective ministry, there must be a relationship with Christ.”
Christianity Cannot Be Separated From Miracles
Agyinasare strongly emphasised the place of God’s supernatural power in Christian ministry, describing Christianity as inseparable from the miraculous.
“A miracle is the suspension of the natural, or a manifestation of the supernatural in the normal course of man’s affairs,” he explained.
According to him, removing miracles from Christianity leaves the Church powerless to effectively reach its generation.
“Christianity without miracles, it’s like Samson without his hair. Powerless to reach his generation.”
God Uses Ordinary People
The Archbishop pointed to Noah, Abraham, Moses, Esther, David, Peter and Paul as examples of imperfect people God used powerfully.
“God is not going to use you because you are perfect. He is going to use you because you have surrendered to him,” he said.
He stressed that the Ignite Conference was ultimately about divine partnership rather than personal prominence: “It is not about building personal kingdoms, but advancing the kingdom of God.”
Concluding his message, Agyinasare urged believers to consider God’s call personally.
“The greatest privilege of your life is to be used by God.”
He added: “When a man or woman fully yields themselves to God, there is no limit to what God can do with them.”
